If you're still getting the hang of studio lighting or if you're new to the world of photography, my group Studio Lighting for beginners workshop is perfect for you. You'll have the opportunity to learn and improve your photography skills in a professional studio environment surrounded by a small group of like-minded individuals.
During the workshop, we'll discuss the type of equipment needed for studio photography, you’ll learn that studio photography doesn’t need to be expensive and you don’t need to own a spare room full of fancy gear to do it! We’ll cover various lighting modifiers to help you determine what works best for your style.
You'll get hands-on experience with a real model and learn about setting up lights, triggering them wirelessly, and understanding the qualities of different types of light and come away with a bank of images that you can use in your own portfolio.
What we will cover:
Setting up and triggering lights wirelessly
Exploring various types of studio lighting equipment (continuous vs. strobe)
A basic introduction to key light, fill light, and backlight
Understanding the function of different lighting modifiers
Differentiating between hard and soft light
Proper placement of lights for desired effects
Hands-on practice with lighting arrangements
Reviewing and critiquing your images captured during the workshop
All you need to bring is your DSLR camera with a hotshoe and basic knowledge of camera settings such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a solid understanding of basic studio lighting essentials and the confidence to create stunning images in a studio setting.
Please note that the workshop fee is £130pp with a £25 (non-refundable) deposit required to secure your spot. The duration of the workshop is 3 hours and it will take place at M8 Studios on Norfolk Street in Liverpool.

If your booked date falls within the next 7 days, the fee and/or deposit are non-refundable.
Date changes are subject to availability and require more than 7 days’ notice of your booked training date.
